Lev White, a fifth-grader at Tuscan Elementary, is the Athlete of the Month. With a versatile skill set across various sports, Lev excels in lacrosse, bas ketball, flag football, softball, and cross country.

When asked about her best sport, Lev confi dently states, “Lacrosse is my main sport, and I’ve been playing midfield for about 3 years with Maplewood Girls’ Lacrosse and DEWLAX.” She is most proud of her contributions to a winning lacrosse team in the Platinum Games and NXT Trident Championships with DEWLAX (2031 Blue Team). Lev also shines in basketball, supporting her team to victory as a point guard for Virginia Tech in the Soma Hoops League. In addition, Lev participates in cross country running events, securing multiple first-place finishes, demonstrat ing both her speed and endurance in the Montclair Youth Running Club. Off the field, Lev is a dedicated student athlete, serving on the Student Coun cil at Tuscan Elementary. Her favorite subject, writing, reflects her creative and academic prowess. Lev draws inspiration from two important women in her life. She explains, “In third grade my teacher, Mrs. Donatelli, inspired me to like football because she likes it so much. And my Mom, who is also my coach, inspires me to be a leader not a boss, and to be the best that I can be.” Lev White’s achievements both on and off the field exemplify his dedication, talent, and commitment to success.

ABOUT DR. BASS If one word were used to describe Dr. Wayne J. Bass, it would be “community.” As one who has served on the Maplewood Chamber of Commerce for a number of years, Dr. Bass understands the needs of the community and strives to achieve excellence with every appointment.
