In their professional lives, Mark and Jennifer achieved notable success. Mark, a civil engineer with HDR Inc., works on infrastructure projects large and small with the Port Authority, MTA, Amtrak, and other agencies across New York and New Jersey. Jennifer, in her role in media analytics and measurement, contributes significantly to the health advertising technology sector. Jennifer’s community involvement in SOMA is equally impressive. She shares, “When we moved to SOMA, I was a new mom and didn’t know a soul. I joined a large Facebook group and was able to find other new moms. I invited them over to my house. Since then, we’ve dubbed ourselves “mom chat” and the twelve of us and all of our children still remain close friends.” The Loga family’s commitment to maintaining these connections and their deep appreciation for the South Orange and Maplewood area underscore the family’s strong sense of community, empathy, and love.

stillbirth rates in the U.S. for almost three decades,” Jen states. This mission led Jen, along with other SOMA parents, to meet with legislators to support the SHINE for Autumn Act in Washington D.C., and raise nearly $60,000 for local stillbirth prevention and support programs. Mark organized several golf fundraisers for an organization that helped them with group therapy soon after their loss. They are also vocal supporters of Count The Kicks, an organization focused on educating expectant parents about stillbirth prevention. A tree in Maplewood Memorial Park was dedicated to Lucy Loga. The plaque reads, “In strength for all the parents of babies who never made it to earth.” Beyond their advocacy work, the Logas cherish family adventures. Mark fondly recalls their recent ski trip in Vermont, emphasizing the joy of exploring new activities as a family. He explains, “As the girls grow, I’m excited to introduce new experiences to them and create memories together that will last forever.”
