INTERIOR DESIGN We’re one month into 2024, and as you start to put your holiday decorations away for the year (okay maybe you’re more efficient than me and you got them put away in January), I’m betting at the same time you’re noticing little things around your home that you really want to update. But perhaps you’re wondering, “Hmmm, what are thenew trends for 2024?” Well, I got your back, decor lovers! So obviously, I don’t have a crystal ball (though I’d love one… more shiny pretty things please!). I definitely see certain trends coming. One of the biggest trends? Green! The interior design world pushed the color green for almost 4 years, and it is finally getting the notice it deserves. I’m not talking about 1990s hunter green; I’m talking about emerald green, olive green, mint green, and in some settings, even kelly green. In addition to green, bold colors in general are very popular. We’re seeing bold colors on walls, in rugs, on pillows, on wallpapers, and even on large pieces furniture. Whether it’s a bold, bright patterned wallpaper, or a solid unconventional color, people are ready to make a statement. This leads me to another trend: Dynamic, brightly colored, and intricately patterned wall murals are definitely having a moment. Whether it’s large geometric shapes, or abstract vibrant colors seeping together with flecks of gold, the walls of homes are definitely taking center stage—and I love it! Do you?
