At just 16 years old, Vaughn Lee, an 11th grader at Columbia High School, has estab lished himself as a powerhouse in the world of tennis. “Tennis is my best sport,” Vaughn shares. “I’ve been playing competitively since I was 9, but I first picked up a racket when I was just 6.” Vaughn’s dedication is evident as he holds the first singles position on the varsity tennis team, a spot he has occupied since his fresh man year. His impressive journey includes being named the Most Valuable Player in his debut season and leading his team to an un

defeated record of 8-0 in their division. This year, he takes on the role of captain as the team moves up to the top division in the SEC. “I hope that this year we can win it all, and I’m determined to do my part and inspire my team mates,” he states confidently. Ranked 15th among juniors in New Jersey by the Tennis Recruiting Network, Vaughn has also made his mark by winning the men’s championship at Ma plewood Tennis Club. Outside of tennis, he enjoys surfing, skiing, and play ing chess, while maintaining an impressive 3.97 GPA in his AP courses. “My coach, Novak Nash, inspires me every day to push my limits,” he explains. Vaughn’s journey is a testament to hard work, passion, and the spirit of a true student-athlete.
