AUSTEN PARK

Austen Park, an 8-year-old second grader at Seth Boyden Elementary School, is the featured musician this month. He plays the piano, having devoted two years to learning the instrument. “Every song is different or harder in one way or another,” he notes, reflecting on the diverse challenges that excite him about music. Austen’s musical journey kicked off at In Tune summer camp, where he discovered his passion. “I got inspired to play when I went to camp. My mom recommended taking les sons, and I couldn’t wait to get started.” This support stirred his creativity and fosters his growth as a budding musician.

With big dreams ahead, Austen aims to broaden his musical skills even further. “I would like to learn drums next, because I want to learn a rhythm instrument,” he shares. His eager ness to explore different types of music showcases his dedi cation to honing his craft. Austen is not just a budding musician. Outside of music, Aus ten enjoys a variety of activities including swimming and gymnastics. He is a strong student and particularly likes math. His athletic, problem solving, and analytical skills are sure to enhance his musical talents over time. Austen’s penchant for music extends to his favorite band, Imagine Dragons. He appreciates their unique style, saying, “Their music is rhythmic and clear while also rock-band style.” We look forward to seeing and hearing his future success.
