MICHAEL DAVID ADAMS

has her own performance show / venue in Brooklyn called Moonrise. Prior to the pandemic I had a very successful solo gallery show at OVO Gallery in South Orange. I’m also proud to have created and painted the “I am Maplewood” Mural on Springfield Ave. The most recent boost of inspiration was in 2010 on my honeymoon with my wife, Viktorija, in her native Croatia. Her hometown friend introduced me to underwater photography, and while standing at the bottom of 12 feet of Mediterranean water watching the fish swim by, I realized I needed to begin shooting underwater with models, creating captivating imagery. It’s been a driving force ever since. What is your inspiration?

Please describe your work, your medium/media, and your tools.

I work in a variety of mediums, although mostly photography. My photography spans from my work with models underwater and on location around the world, as well as digital compilations for my conceptual work. I also enjoy painting murals and other art pieces.

What is your process of creation?

Whether with my photography or paintings, I do lots of research first, and then make physical and digital sketches. The next step is to make a plan on how to go about creating the work. I sometimes work with a crew of

people to create my art, and will provide them with the sketches and meetings prior to the shoot day(s). Tell me about your most recent projects/ exhibitions? The pandemic has been difficult because a lot of my time had to be devoted to helping my child with school, but I did manage to do some projects. I photographed a talented performance artist formerly of Cirque Du Soleil’s Amaluna show. This performer now
