2025 Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion

by Ru r al Heritage T he Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Association hosts its annual reunion hosts its annual reunion every labor day weekend. In addition to a wide variety of steam engines, tractors, hit-and miss engines and a lot more agricultural exhibits demonstrating the work our ancestors performed in our rural past, there are horses.

In a lovely, remote corner of the park, volunteers have built a small farm where they use draft horses to bind and thresh grain, mow, rake and load loose hay, bind corn, and much more. This past year they've added a granary to the farmstead that already includes a turn-of-the-century barn and farm house.

Randy Olson uses a side delivery rake on a small field across the pond from the horse barns.
