Mini Nubians to the Rescue A Story of Small Farm Adjustments During a Time of Crisis
by Chiara Dowell Y ears ago, I read an article in Mother Earth News in which the author was detailing small adjustments he and his wife were making as the entered their “golden years.” Some of these adjustments consisted in little things, such as cutting cord wood into smaller
sections, and carrying in smaller amounts of split firewood at a time and building raised garden beds to spare stiff backs. I was barely past 35 then, and much of his advice went in one ear and out the other because it sounded like common sense. And when you are young and spry it’s hard to shake that sense of invincibility.
Mini Nubians are a smart choice for the small farm and homestead with their calm temperments and half the feed requirements of a full-size goat
