Sure, farmers were autonomous and sometimes solitary, but there was always friendly and helpful folks nearby. ° ° ° °
W e put this issue to bed in mid May but by the time you read this in early June, I will have been to Donn Hewes’s farm in New York Ralph Rice's home in northwestern Ohio, Chris Pidcock's place in southern Ohio and to see Jerry Hicks in Kentucky. In June and July I’ll be going to the Montana Mule Days in Hamilton, Mont., the Draft Cattle Symposium at Tillers International in Scots, Mich., Kiester Farming of Yesteryear Horse and Mule show in Kiester, Minn., Farm Team Competition in New Virginia, Ia., and the Historic Construction Equipment Show in Concordia, Kans. —jm
