doesn’t release the pin from the cog. The easiest fix is to replace the handle. Drill or cut off the grommet and install the new handle with a bolt. If the wire is broken, missing or stretched, then just replace the wire. Generally, the wire comes with the spring, so go ahead and replace both. There are different length wires for the different levers, so be sure to order the correct ones. While you are it, be sure the bolts that go through the lever and cogs are tight so there is no side-to-side play. If they are loose, the pin will not line up with the cogs or might fall out to one side. Changing the Width. While I prefer to have my cultivators set at the narrowest setting (36 inches), they can be set up to be as wide as 48 inches. Measure from the center of one wheel to the other to see what the distance is.To change the width,you need to remove left and right pins that go through the cast frame holding the shaft for each wheel assembly. The pin will likely be rusted in and may take some penetrating oil to unseize it. You will also have to loosen the set screw on the drag bar. With the pin out, tap on the wheel assembly. Again, this may take some oil to free it. Tap back and forth to free it up. Once it is out, clean off the shaft and oil it so it moves freely and subsequent adjustments are
