Rural Heritage June/July 2025
at least one case, a dream fulfilled. A young couple shared their horses with an adoring public and an old lady laid eyes on a beloved memory from her childhood. The North American Suffolk Horse Association was well represented. The board president, vice president, secretary/treasurer, promotions chair and several members were present. They answered questions and shared their knowledge and love for the Suffolk Punch horses. The only other draft breed we saw represented there was the Percheron. They, too, had arena time. They even were part of a large evening show called “Fantasia.” They wore costumes and paraded around like Roman chariot soldiers. Their show, too, was a crowd pleaser. We came home tired, but we took pleasure in the fact that we had introduced the Suffolk horse to many new people. We also felt good about reacquainting some old friends while we made many new ones. It was a successful event. What an Affair!
