The museum also partners with Blue Star Museums, Museums for All, and the Explore More RAILS library pass program. Supported by more than 4,500 members and donors, the AAM-accredi ted, Smithsonian-affiliated private nonprofit museum is housed in a county-owned LEED Gold-certified building on a campus overlooking the Illinois River. Since opening in 2012, the privately funded museumhas providedmore thanonemillion experiences through major exhibitions, a permanent collection, interactive galleries, the Dome Planetarium, with the World’s Most Advanced Planetarium System, the Giant Screen Theater, featuring Illinois’ largest screen, and educational family fun programming. Themuseum’s Every Student Initiative (ESI) program provides free donor-supported visits to all K-8 Peoria and East Peoria
HOW TO HELP A Peoria RiverfrontMuseummembership providesmany benefits, including free or reduced admission to 350 to 1,600 museums worldwide through our reciprocal programs with other museums. Families may join for $110/year and 1+1membership is $90/year. Other benefits include free admission to galleries and planetariumshows, discounts on Giant Screen Theater films and special member events.
