HOW TO HELP The PHS is completely funded through donations and support from individuals who care about making a difference for people and animals in our community. Give a gift (monetary, or dog and cat food) to allow the PHS to continue the important work of saving lives.

ANIMAL RESOURCE LIBRARY The PHS Education Center is home to a unique and comprehensive animal resource library aimed at upholding the core values of respect, responsibility, peace and kindness. Visitors are encouraged to engage in animal welfare through meetings, lunch and learns, community service and educational programs in a spacious conference room. PUBLIC AWARENESS PHS is committed to bringing awareness to issues of animal cruelty and neglect, proper pet care, and the problems surrounding pet overpopulation through billboards, social media and community outreach events. EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE PHS focuses on keeping pets with their families by providing support to community animals in need of medical care, food and pet supplies. YOUTH EDUCATION PHS nurtures a love for animals through several programs. Paws to Read is a reading to-dogs program that visits local schools and libraries. Summer Story Time is an interactive time of stories, crafts, snacks and fun with animal friends. Be Kind to Animals Poster Contest is offered for students in our partner schools. Kids & Critters Camp is a summer camp for 5th grade through high school age youthwhere kids spend time with shelter animals. Kindhearted Kids is a program focused on developing appreciation for people, animals and the environment.

rehabilitation of sick and injured shelter animals; helps transport dogs, cats, rabbits, farm animals, and wildlife to other animal welfare groups; donates equipment and supplies when PCAPS has a need and supports foster homes caring for shelter animals waiting to be adopted by supplying food, medical car, and supplies. LOW COST SPAY/NEUTER PHS helps to fund a low-cost spay and neuter program for residents of Peoria County to reduce the number of unwanted cats and dogs. PET THERAPY The Paws 4 Therapy program provides support for the elderly, disabled and young through visits to area hospitals, long term healthcare facilities, schools and residential locations. Paws to Read is a reading-to-dogs program that visits schools and libraries to promote the benefits of reading.

VALUES Kindness, Responsibility, Peace, Respect WHAT WE DO The Peoria Humane Society was incorpo rated more than 80 years ago and remains the oldest humane organization in the Peoria area. Our mission has always been to prevent animal cruelty and suffering and provide a safe haven for animals in need in our community. DID YOU KNOW? The PHS provides support to pet owners who are struggling to feed their pets and give medical care when needed. SHELTER SUPPORT PHS manages a volunteer program to enhance the lives of animals at Peoria County Protection Services; funds the
