WHAT WE DO Feed, Educate and Empower our Commu nity Through All Life Stages. DID YOU KNOW? At NeighborhoodHouse, we pride ourselves on putting our mission into practice every day. Striving to uplift our community when they need it most and empower them to reach their fullest potential. Food insecurity reached record highs during the pandemic and although we are begin ning to emerge from the pandemic, the needs of the community remain. Toomany families and individuals continue to face food insecurity. The support of our com munity has helped ensure our food pantry remains open twice monthly. We continue to see steady community participation each month and are committed to supporting our community in this way. We are proud to maintain our Meals on Wheels program and wellness checks for approximately 800 seniors and their pets in Peoria andTazewell counties. Thedailymeals provided to our seniors are vital to help our clientsmaintain a healthy lifestyle. However, theMeals onWheels program ismuchmore thandelivering a hotmeal. It’s about care and concern that extends beyond meals. Several of our Meals on Wheels clients

Neighborhood House understands the im portant role a pet serves in themental health of a homebound seniorwho lives alone. This needhas grownduring the pandemic as sev eral seniors have faced increased isolation. Through community support and generous donations, we have been able to offer pet food to over 150 pets. For 125 years, Neighborhood House has been providing resources and education to empower our community through all life stages. Our educationprograms continue to do just that for our area’s youth and adults. We are committed to supporting our local youth and families year-round with our Af ter-School and Summer programs. Through each programparticipating children receive educational support, fun activities, a nutri tious meal and a safe place to go each day. Our adult learners are on site again and we are thrilled to see them working towards their goals through our adult program ming including literacy and GED. These education programs will reduce barriers for our clients seeking employment. Our clients are utilizing our free programs to reach their fullest potential and provide for themselves and their families. Neighborhood House is proud to continue to hold true to our mission while still main taining our tradition of adaptive services to best fulfill the needs of our community. are unable to grocery shop or stand long enough to cook on their own due to physical or medical limitations. One cli ent, who uses a wheelchair, recently shared she is grate ful for the extra care our meal delivery drivers take to deliver her meals inside so she doesn’t have to risk using the stairs.We care about our clients’ well-be ing and strive to support them through all circumstances.
