WHAT WE DO ImpactLife is a not-for-profit organization that works with volunteer donors and the groups that most mobile blood drives to provide blood components used in patient transfusions at hospitals across our region. In Peoria, this includes all OSF HealthCare andUnityPoint Health facilities. Blood transfusions are given to patients in treatment for cancer, due to blood loss in surgery, from trauma, or complications in connection with childbirth. The use of blood can spike at any time so it’s the blood that’s already donated and “on the shelves” that makes the biggest difference in a time of crisis.
