VISION The physicians and staff at Illinois CancerCare are relentless in working toward f inding better treatments, therapies and ultimately cures for many forms of cancer. In addition to supporting local research, the Foundation funds education and awareness programs and patient support and assistance programs throughout central and western Illinois. WHAT WE DO The Illinois CancerCare Foundation is a charitable organization like no other in our community. We are proud to be a strong advocate for people facing cancer and are committed to helping ensure anyone who faces cancer, regardless of their socioeconomic status, has access to Foundation-supported research, education and patient support programs. NEW TREATMENT TRIALS: Our Foundation, in collaboration with Illinois CancerCare, helps bring the latest nationally renowned clinical cancer research trials right here to our community. With over 100 clinical trials available, Illinois CancerCare regularly enrolls double the national average of patients, outperforming larger, well-known institutions. These advanced treatment options allowour patients and their families greater access to the best care and HOPE close to home. EDUCATION AND ADVOCACY: Com munity outreach plays an important role inbringingus closer toa cure. Charitable gifts to the Foundation support educational events and training for volunteer advocates, equipping themwith the tools they need to share the importance of clinical research with the goal of reducing barriers to trial participation. PATIENT SUPPORT: Illinois CancerCare’s volunteer program, with over 100 volun teers, provides a special touch to patients and their families. Supported by gifts to the Foundation’s Volunteer Fund, volunteers lend a helping hand and items of comfort for cancer patients during their visit.

Foundat ion grants a l so prov ide transportation assistance and lymphedema support to qualified patients. The Foundation’s Trust in Hope program provides compassion and support to cancer patients and their families during the holidays. In the last 13 years, 3,509 Thanksgiving meals have been delivered and 305 families with 550 children have received holiday gifts. Through this heartfelt program we can provide even more compassion, support and hope to our patients and their families during the holiday season. GENETIC TESTING: The Foundation supports genetic screening programs to identify hereditary cancers, with special emphasis on families at risk for hereditary colorectal, pancreatic and breast cancers. These programs empower families to understand their risks, provide relief from uncertainty and make informed decisions about their healthcare.
