Peninsula In Passage

Diane Davis, a descendent of the King and Harrell families says , If Hinton had not responded to my notes left around Bennett’s Creek, requesting to contact me if anyone knew Henrietta King or Wagner relatives, I would not have had the wonderful journey, learning the magic of Driver. I am forever grateful to him. I’ve got stories and facts about my ancestors that few could equal. The humor that rocked Driver in the 1950s can bring a smile today. After his wife, Peggy, died in 2000, Hurff sold off 45 acres of a family farm for the Driver Pointe subdivision. “I think I like progress a lot more in recent years – I’ve been in favor of development,” Hurff says. “As a child I never thought anybody would sell their farms but I learned that if the price were right, everyone would sell.”
