Peninsula In Passage

I grew up roaming the creeks in my rowboat and got a little outboard motor, a five horse Clinton Apache, when I was in 3rd grade. We used to visit the family cabin at Respass Beach for fish fries in the summer. My parents were frugal but I got my first car from my grandfather, a 1971 Opal Cadette, 4-cylinder fire engine red. I finally traded it in on an International Scout I bought from John Harlow and made a monthly payment of $120 when I was making $50 a week on the farm. His father J. C. Matthews died in 2003, about five years after selling the market to Jim Shirley. Jodie Matthews stayed on to run the market with the help of his two sisters.
