This year, the Peoria chapter of the African American Hall of Fame Museum presented 31 outstanding students from Peoria Public Schools, Quest Academy, and Bloomington/ Normal schools with scholarships. AAHFM started this scholarship initiative in 2013 for students to highlight their community achievements and beyond. This year’s major contributors include Ameren Illinois, Illinois American Water, Doug and Diane Oberhelman, Brewers Distributing and Concerned African American Retirees (CAAR).
