Steve Thompson has announced his retirement as president and CEO of Easterseals Central Illinois. He will remain CEO through Aug. 31. MelissaRiddle hasstepped into the role of president, assuming responsibility for all aspects of Easterseals operations. Riddle joined the executive leadership teamat Easterseals in2021
in the financial services industry. She joined DVI in 2007 as director of client services. DVI Chairman Will Williams lauded Rickett’s promotion, saying she had “provided superior leadership and direction … during extraordinary operating conditions.” ELECTIONS AND SELECTIONS Chris Ahart has been named chairman of the Greater Peor ia Mass Transit District Board of Trustees. Ahart, a resident of Peoria Heights, is deputy chief of the Peoria Heights Police Department. He succeeds Maxine Wortham, a retired Peoria Public Schools administrator. Peor ia Publ ic Schools Board of Education member Doug Shaw has been inducted into the Management Information Systems (MIS) Hall of Fame at the University of Illinois Springfield (UIS), where he earned his master’s degree in MIS and graduate certificate in Business Process Management. as chief operating officer. Nick McMi l lion has joined the Peoria Public Works Department as communications specialist. He most recently worked as communication coordinator for Illinois Central College in East Peoria. Veronica De Fazio has been named the deputy director of the Peoria Public Library. She most recently worked at the Plainfield Public Library. Thomas Bruch has left the position of director of public relations and community engagement at Peoria Public Schools. His successor is Haleemah Na’Allah . After 34 years with Snyder Village, Ex ecutive Director Keith Swartzentru ber has announced plans to retire by Dec. 31. He will be replaced by Janelle Clark , who will begin that role Aug. 1. She has served as an executive director, a health center administrator and a director of assisted living.
Michele “Shelly” Lehman has received Peoria His torical Society’s Volunteer of the Year Award for 2022. She serves on the board of trustees and chairs the marketing committee.
