Jason, or the red power rang- er, in 2017 live action Power Rangers was introduced as one of this season’s main pro- tagonists, Billy. We were also introduced to Sadie Sink, who plays Max, the step-sister of Billy and new girl in Hawkins who quickly takes an interest in Mike, Dustin, Will, and Lucas. Lastly, the show introduced the familiar, well-known face of Sean Astin. You may know him as Samwise Gamgee from the Lord of the Rings tril- ogy or Mikey Walsh from The Goonies. Coincidentally, The Goonies and Stranger Things have quite a lot in common. Both take place in the eight- ies, and both have to do with a quirky group of kids going on an adventure. For this rea- son, it seems only fitting that Sean Astin would join the cast of Stranger Things 2. The ad- dition of these actors to the al- ready stellar cast made season two even more action packed than season one. Overall,Stranger Things 2 did much more than live up to its well-deserved hype. The eighties sci-fi show’s all-star cast and original storyline has something for everyone to love.

much excitement over season 2 of Stranger Things By Madeline Waters If you are one of the few people who has not yet watched or, dare I say, heard of Stranger Things, today is your lucky day. The first season of Stranger Things was released on Netf- lix on July 15, 2016. The show takes place in Hawkins, Indi- ana in 1983. Season one fol- lowed the search for a young boy named Will who suddenly went missing, a corrupted government lab full of secrets, and a strange girl with tele- kinetic abilities. Season two continues the story and fol- lows the aftermath of the cri- sis, as well as some newfound obstacles. Since the beginning of the year, Stranger Things 2 has been one of the most anticipated shows of 2017. It turns out that season two was highly anticipated for good reason, as the season is full of breathtaking performances by both debuting child actors and familiar faces. It is no secret that the child actors of Stranger Things are

incredibly talented. One of the most notable performances was by Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike Wheeler in the show. You may recognize him as Richie Tozier from the 2017 adaptation of Stephen King’s It, where he showed off his ability to portray the main source of comic relief. In Stranger Things, Wolfhard’s character is much more emo- tional. He is put to the test a handful of times as he deals

with loss, fear, and love. The fact that Wolfhard is only four- teen years old makes his acting that much more impressive, as he has shown that he is able to portray a plethora of different emotions with little difficulty. Another gifted cast member is the incredible Millie Bob- by Brown. Although she was born in Spain, Brown is actu- ally of British descent. She is only thirteen years old, and she plays the main hero of Strang-

er Things, Eleven. Brown has proven to be proficient at masking her British accent while in character, and is also very skilled at acting around special effects. Scenes with both Brown and Wolfhard act- ing together are extremely im- pressive. Season two also introduced a few new characters who were not present in season one of the show.
