As the northern lights come to a close on North’s most re- cent show, Almost, Maine, students involved have time to reflect on the show. Junior Emily Tesch, who played Gayle in Cast B, sees Al- most, Maine as contrasting to other shows that Appleton North’s Theatre Department has presented recently. “Each of us were only in one scene, so we only went to blocking for our one scene instead of everyday for a few weeks like we normally do,” Tesch said. “I thought it was cool that we did something a lit- tle different this year, some- thing more casual than White Snake or something,” Senior Julia Kaufman said. “We all had such fun with this com- edy especially after we’ve done so many more serious shows,” Tesch agreed. Actors and Tech members agree that this show flowed better than others. “This was definitely the most enjoyable and also the smoothest run- ning show we’ve had,” Ju- nior Mariya Todorova said, who played Rhonda in Cast A. “Despite the little rehears- al this was the least stressful show I’ve ever done at North, and this was my tenth show,” Tesch said. “As far as tech goes, there weren’t too many issues or struggles when it came to set except for getting the shoe to fall correctly from the ceiling,” Kaufman said. One big thing actors en- joyed was the closeness to the audience, as spring shows are held with the audience seating on stage. “Getting an audience to really laugh, By Jacob Zajkowski The cast of Almost, Maine reflects on their journey from start to finish

smile, and even be moved to happy tears is so satisfy- ing. With our audience so close it’s always fun to really see how our audience reacts to us,” Tesch said. “I loved this show, and I thought it was super enjoyable to take part in. It’s also surprising to make people actually laugh because you’re used to run- ning your own scene so many times that you forget that it’s actually an enjoyable, cute, painful, and funny play,” Todorova said. All in all, Almost, Maine was a different kind of Spring show that many in the Apple- ton North Theatre Depart-

ment enjoyed immensely. With romance, humor, and real life connections, Almost, Maine was definitelyw a show to remember.
