Capella Sydney, Capella Suite SYDNEY

Capella made its debut in Australia in March, opening a new property within Sydney’s former Department of Education building. Built in the 1900s by New South Wales government architect George McRae, the golden sandstone property underwent a seven-year restoration before welcoming its fi rst guests. We love the look of the Capella Suite — the largest and most extravagant of the hotel’s 192 rooms, spanning over 2,500 sq ft. Situated up on the ninth fl oor, the suite overlooks the historic Sandstone Precinct and Royal Botanic Gardens. The bedroom is especially noteworthy: Expect dramatic fl oor-to-ceiling windows and a super king-size bed topped with custom Italian Frette linens. There’s also a cozy living room complete with a fi replace and marble bar — the perfect spot for entertaining. From $790 per night.
