The Area Around the Eyes • Gently and slowly slide your fingers along the lower eyelids toward the inner corners of the eyes. • Then, move your fingers upward, drawing an arc under the eyebrows and returning to the outer corners of the eyes. • Next, move your fingers from the outer to the inner corners of the eyes once again. • Place your index fingers at the beginning of the brows near the bridge of the nose. Apply light pressure for 30 seconds. • Place both index fingers directly below the pupils on the eye socket bones. Apply light pressure for 30 seconds. • Press the fingers of both hands to the areas just below the temples, close to the upper rims of the ears. Applying slight pressure, slide your fingers down to the client’s clavicles. This motion will stimulate the lymphatic fluid and can help tone the skin around the eyes and reduce inflammation, which combats puffiness and lid sagging. Forehead • Rest your index, middle and ring fingers of both hands on the center of the forehead. • Using zigzagging movements, slide your fingers from the center of the forehead to the temples. • While here, stimulate the center of the forehead between the eyebrows and above the bridge of the nose. Repeat for 30 seconds. • Next, place both index fingers slightly above the middle of the eyebrows. Apply pressure for 30 seconds. • Moving both index fingers to the temple area near the end of the eyebrows, apply pressure for 30 seconds. • Press the fingers of both hands to the areas just below the temples, close to the upper rims of the ears. Applying slight pressure, slide your fingers down to the client’s clavicles. This motion will stimulate the lymphatic fluid. • Relaxing the forehead muscles may help diminish fine lines and furrows in the brow.
The Area Around the Lips • Press fingers to the center of the chin and move them in a semicircle toward the upper lip. • Slide your fingers from the nasal arch to the cheeks and back. • Then, place your index finger above the upper lip, right in the center below the nose, and apply pressure for 30 seconds. • Place your index finger at the outer corners of the mouth and apply pressure for 30 seconds. • Move your fingers to the end of the laugh lines or jowls and apply pressure for 30 seconds. • Press the fingers of both hands to the areas just below the temples, close to the upper rims of the ears. Applying slight pressure, slide your fingers down, all the way to the client’s clavicles. This motion will stimulate the lymphatic fluid. • The muscles around the lips and mouth should relax. Nasolabial Furrows • Press three fingers to the center of the chin. • Maintaining the pressure, slide your hands upward along the nose to the inner corners of the eyes. • Move your fingers from the inner corners of the eyes toward the temples. • Press the fingers of both hands to the areas just below the temples, close to the upper rims of the ears. Applying slight pressure, slide your fingers down to the client’s clavicles. This motion will stimulate the lymphatic fluid. Cheeks • Place three fingers on the sides of the nose and apply pressure. • Swipe your fingers along the cheekbones in the direction of the temples. • Press the pads of your fingers to the chin and lips, raising the cheeks. • Slide the pads of your fingers along the cheekbones toward the ears. • Place index fingers below the pupils of the eyes and apply pressure for 30 seconds. • Move about one-half inch down from that spot and apply pressure for 30 seconds.
Lymph work should be started at the point where you would like the fluid to flow.
