Stimulating the face muscles with regular massage helps to bring blood flow to that area—which is a natural form of anti aging skin care. A study conducted by Basu et al., found that increased blood flow to the facial area increased collagen production and boosted elasticity, which gave a healthy and natural glow to study participants 1 . The face and neck have a structure similar to the rest of the body: bones, muscles, skin, connective tissue, blood and lymph. The face requires the same attention as the rest of the body to keep fit and healthy. Just like exercise for the body, “exercising” the facial muscles can help keep our faces looking more youthful.
