Gleason began working at the company in 1959 and held various positions before ultimately becoming CEO in 1981 until 2002. During that time, he broadened the company’s product line and returned the company to private ownership from being a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange. From 1996 to 1997, he served as AMT chairman and was the recipient of the prestigious 2014 AMT Al Moore Leadership Award.
