INSULATED All Klein insulated tools comply with ASTM F-1505 and IEC 60900 standards for insulated tools and are clearly marked with the official international 1000-volt rating symbol. • Pliers • Screwdrivers and Nut Drivers • Wire Strippers/Cutters • Cable Cutters • Crimpers/Cutters • Knives To conform to these standards, each insulated tool is put through Klein’s internal rigorous testing process to ensure the tool can handle any situation in the field. Some of these Some of these tests include the dielectric test, a handle pull off test, an impact test and a flammability test, to confirm the durability and reliability of our insulated tools. Not all tools with plastic coatings or plastic handles provide protection against electrical shock. Only use those tools that are marked with the official international 1000-volt rating symbol, as shown, if there is any chance that the tool will make contact with an energized source.
DIELECTRIC TESTING 10,000 volts are run through the insulation to ensure that there are no leaks
and Measurement
FLAMMABILITY TESTING
Classic Insulated (INS) Feature large, bright orange handles making the tool comfortable to use all day and easy to identify in the field. Durable, two component molded insulation provides protection against electric shock Thick, exceptionally tough, high dielectric white inner coating is bonded to the tool Flame retardant, impact-resistant, bright orange outer coating
Electrician’s Insulated (EINS) Provides a multi-color, sleeker design than the Classic Lineman’s insulated tools. EINS tools have passed VDE third party testing certification to the IEC 60900 standard. Durable, three component molded insulation provides protection against electric shock Thick, exceptionally tough, high dielectric white inner coating is bonded to the tool Flame retardant, impact-resistant, multi-color outer coating ~
Multi-Layer Insulated (RINS)
Jobsite
Accessories
Features a multi-color, slimmer design than the classic Lineman's insulated tools. RINS tools meet or exceed IEC 60900:2018 and ASTM F1505-16 (2021) standards for insulated tools for protection against electric shock. Thick multi-layer grip design provides protection against electric shock Integral guards help prevent hand contact with conductive parts Flame retardant, impact-resistant, bright orange outer coating

Product numbers with the INS and EINS suffix contain these warnings below and must be understood. WARNING: Only use tools that are marked with the official international 1000-volt rating symbol shown below, if there is any chance that the tools will make contact with an energized source.
WARNING: Do NOT touch uninsulated portion of the tool or any conductive object when either might contact an energized source.
Power Tools
and Accessories
WARNING: Because moisture, films, or other surface contaminants are conductive, Klein insulated tools must be kept clean, dry, and free of any surface contaminants. WARNING: Whenever possible, always de-energize lines and equipment prior to working on or around them. Klein insulated tools are designed only to reduce the chance of injury where the tool may make contact with an energized source.
WARNING: Wear approved eye protection. Always inspect your tools before use. Do not use if orange coating cracks, breaks or becomes damaged. Destroy tool if white layer shows through orange layer.
