KLEIN ISD IS HOME TO SOME OF THE STATE’S TOP CROSS COUNTRY RUNNERS AND PROGRAMS. The Klein girls’ team of Kathryn Koonts, Sophia Goerlich, Kamdyn Spencer, Kristen McHugh, Isabella Rivault, Daniela Mendez and Paige Meinhardt took sixth overall at the State Meet in Round Rock, Texas. The Bearkats were followed by Klein Oak, who finished 11th overall. Panther sophomore Lydia Butler was the district’s top female finisher, who placed 10th. Butler was followed by Klein’s Koonts in 23rd place. Rounding out Klein Oak’s Top 5 were Elizabeth Winkler, Stella Philips, Emma Phillips and Jazmine McBride. THE KLEIN CAIN HURRICANES BLEW

THROUGH THEIR FALL SEASON, CRUSHING MOST EVERYTHING IN THEIR SIGHTS. Cain was the District 15-6A Runner Up, and Bi-District and Area Champion. Leading the way was District 15-6A Girls MVP Angelica Montano and first teamers Katie Haines, Ximena Islas, Angelina Pham, Victoria Salazar/Karla Salazar and Evan Pezirtzoglou/Andie Thomas. The ‘Canes took down Cypress Woods and Oak Ridge in the postseason before falling to eventual State Finalist The Woodlands.
