Scott is coming into his own after a solid showcase this past summer and his commitment to the University of Oklahoma, but his baseball bloodlines run deep. “It kind of started when my Dad played at Southern University (Baton Rouge),” said Scott. “He actually had me while he was still playing there, so I was born into it. When I was five, I decided that I didn’t want to play baseball anymore. My parents told me to go out and play one more time. If I didn’t like it, I could quit. I’ve just gotten to the point where I can clear my mind and focus on making the plays we need.” His bat brought the scouts as he landed on the Sooners. “I really like the coaches and environment at OU,” he said. “Just the campus and culture really spoke to me. Since they just went to the National Championship, it was a no-brainer.” With two years to play at Klein Oak, Scott will continue to build his legacy inside the Panther club house, hopefully culminating in a district title and a playoff run as their star swings for the fences.
