JM Test Systems Product and Services Catalog Vol. IV 2024
Ed Morrison was an equipment manager for a large instrumentation and Electrical contractor in Louisiana. While working there, he saw the importance of delivering quality, cer tified, test equipment to a jobsite and the importance of that test equipment to the success or failure of the job. This meant finding quality vendors to clean, service and verify the calibration of the equipment after every job was over. After years of fixing the equipment himself or struggling to find vendors who could live up to his standards, Ed decided to start JM Test Systems in early 1982 while working at the I&E contractor. Ed’s fi rst son, Cliff Morrison (current JM Test Treasurer), along with a few other employees would work when they could to help clean and fi x deadweights, Transmation 1040s, wally boxes and other test equipment for a few local contractors. When construction was slow in 1984, Ed decided to take a layoff from the I&E contractor to concentrate on JM Test Systems full time. ED MORRISON | OUR FOUNDER
In late 1984, Ed and a few employees moved into a shared building with another electronics company and were of ficial ly open for business. A
few years later, two of Ed’s sons, Scott Morrison (current JM Test President) and Jace Morrison (JM Test Manufacturing Manager), would come to work for the company to help with the growth. After years of service and running day to day operations at JM Test Systems, Ed Morrison decided to retire in 1998 at which point Scott Morrison was appointed President which he still holds today.
JM still has and uses the trailer Ed Morrison started out in, in his backyard.
