Ewing Kauffman entrusted his Foundation to take an unconventional approach to philanthropy. He challenged those who would carry out his legacy to address the root causes of systemic issues and break down barriers to access.

He believed all people should have the opportunity to achieve financial stability, upward mobility and economic prosperity. Education and entrepreneurship are key to expanding human potential and fundamentally

changing people’s lives. We are committed to that mission.

As I lead the Foundation into its next chapter, I believe we have a future in front of us that can be

transformative for Kansas City, for this greater region, for the nation, but also for the role of philanthropy.
