In 1997, Ingram’s introduced its annual Top Doctors feature, showcasing an elite group of physicians who have demonstrated exceptional skill in delivering medical care. The guidance we gave to nomina tors from the medical community was simple: “If you were the patient with a serious condition, or if it involved a family member, which doctor would you turn to for the highest level of care?” From that, we have been able to select and profile 332 physicians—on average, only about a dozen hon orees each year. Considering the size of this region’s provider community, with thousands of general practitioners and specialists, each group of annual honorees was indeed part of an elite few. As we bring you our 2023 class of Top Doctors, it’s an ideal time for all organizations operating in the health-care space to begin considering their most promising candidates for 2024. It’s also a unique oppor tunity to market other aspects of their operations that make this region a multi-state magnet for care.
