Bison State Bank Gross Revenue: 2022: $2,454,000 Growth: 380.97% Average Annual Growth Rate: 126.99% Full-time employees: 44 Bison State Bank’s rise among the region’s fastest-growing companies reflects a strategy built less on chasing size than on serving businesses that increasingly find themselves overlooked by much larger competitors. Chairman Ryan Wiebe says industry consolidation has created opportunities for community banks willing to focus on the $1 million to $3 million commercial relationships that often fall below the threshold of super-regional lenders. “This is where banking and relationships happen,” he says, noting that those borrowers value local decision-making and bankers who know the people behind the balance sheet—not simply the numbers on it. Maintaining that relationship-first culture while steadily increasing the bank’s own scale has allowed Bison to grow without sacrificing its identity. Wiebe argues that success comes from finding the “happy medium”: large enough to assume calculated risks with strong capital and underwriting, yet small enough to preserve the flexibility and personal service that distinguish community banking. That formula helped fuel Bison’s exceptional growth since 2022. This Corporate Report 100 fixture returns to the top tier—again– this time with nearly half a billion dollars in revenue. Propio Language Services, the Overland Park firm connecting clients to a network of more than 20,000 linguists across 300-plus languages, grew from $78 million to $466 million over the most recent measurement period, a run the company attributes to both acquisition and organic strength. Key deals—Akorbi, United Language Group and ASL Services— expanded its reach across health care, government, education, legal and financial sectors, while its remote interpretation business grew organically to become the second-largest in the world, company officials proudly declare. Industry research firm Nimdzi vaulted Propio to No. 10 on its Top 100 Language Service Providers ranking, citing the largest revenue increase among the 100 largest LSPs. CEO Marco Assis came on board in 2017 as CFO, acquired the company two years later, and has set out to build a juggernaut in a niche that’s vital to supporting global business transactions and communications. Alternative investments are having a moment, and Aspen Funds has positioned itself squarely in it. The Overland Park fund manager—now overseeing more than $800 million in assets across multiple asset classes—applies what it calls a macro-driven approach, identifying strategies positioned to perform across economic cycles for high-net-worth and institutional investors. The growth path wasn’t a straight line: revenue dipped in fiscal 2024 before more than doubling in 2025, and that year-over-year surge by itself was enough to propel the firm to the stratosphere of fast-growing companies in the region. The firm credits strong investment performance, concierge-level client service, key business-development hires and institutional back-office support that made the platform scalable—and points to alignment as its differentiator, investing in every offering on the same terms as its investor partners. 2025: $11,803,000 Propio Language Services 14 st Year Gross Revenue: 2025: $466,024,036 2022: $77,940,881 Growth: 497.92% Average Annual Growth Rate: 165.97% Full-time employees: 680 2025: $5,194,605 2022: $793,828 Growth: 554.37% Average Annual Growth Rate: 184.79% Full-time employees: 35 1 st Year
