Ingram's December 2022

A CITY IN CRISIS Violent crime in Kansas City, Missouri , is four times the national average and three times the state average.

percent reduction in shootings and its homicide rate has fallen to its lowest in 30 years. Meanwhile, the clearance rate for Omaha homicides rose from 30 percent to 80 percent while officer-involved shootings decreased by 90 percent over the last 10 years. Modeled after the Empowerment Network, KC Common Good is bringing the success of the 360 model to Kansas City. Community Violence Intervention programs (CVI) support individuals who are at the highest risk of being victims of gun violence. Grounded in strong research, these programs show a successful track record of curbing violent crime, reducing shootings and saving lives. The community is crucial to creating sustainable change, and KC 360 is focused on amplifying community solutions with data-informed practices. Kansas City cannot be a successful and vibrant region when parts of it remain unsafe and underfunded. We cannot continue to lose 15 friends, family members and coworkers each month. By working together toward the common good, we can address the root causes of violence and make meaningful change in Kansas City. When you donate to KC Common Good, you impact the future of Kansas City and commit to a safer, more prosperous place to live.
