Calendar or schedule spreads can tend to get cluttered very quickly. However, the Chieftain staff managed to pull off a perfectly successful daily routine for four separate individuals at the school. Consistent font styling, use of color and balanced white space around clusters of photos guides the eyes and invites readers to investigate the lives of their peers. Additionally, a certain amount of journalistic reporting is present as one doesn’t simply inherently know the schedule and have the photos of four unique students – staff members have to spend time with subjects. The results are clean, organized and lovely. VC
