The Lair LEANDER HIGH SCHOOL 1. The book’s theme, “Come as You Are,” is represented visually through bold coloring,

a thick and unique serif typeface and the use of sharp angles to organize space. This spread demands attention with its crisp photography and slanted secondary, all encapsulated with hot pinks and purples. The repeated headline phrases of “come and do this action” evoke a welcoming and accepting feeling throughout the book, which helps continue the “celebration of individuality” in the theme copy pages. 2. So much is happening on this STEM spread, and so many things happen in STEM, so it matches. The Lair staff takes care to express movement, using the decorated rockets from a class to include coverage of a project, as well as guiding the reader across the page.
