Oilseed processors are rethinking how to stabilize meal after extraction due to regulatory restrictions on chemical additives. Radio frequency treatment provides reliable microbial control for soy and canola meal without the use of formaldehyde. Thermal energy can be recovered directly from solids, integrating rather than isolating heating and cooling steps. Moving bed heat exchangers combined with heat pumps can significantly reduce primary energy demand while preserving feed quality.
