INDUSTRY INSIGHTS

MARKET MATTERS

Directional clarity is beginning to make clear some issues formerly beguiling the U.S. economy. Real GDP growth is forecast to grow at a slightly slower growth rate of 1.5 percent to 2 percent – what economists call trend growth. This growth will be driven by the following: • Inflation is moderating its rate of growth toward the Federal Reserve’s 2 percent target rate which should be achieved in 2028. • Tax cuts, business investment, and tariffs easing should be a major growth incentive. • Artificial intelligence has and will continue to enhance productivity, spur construction in energy production facilities, and accelerate the repurposing of buildings, especially offices.
