CATEGORY DETAILS: All floors entered in the contest were eligible. The floors were then featured on NWFA’s social media channels, allowing followers to share, like, and comment on their favorite. The floor receiving the most engagement received this award. WHAT MAKES THIS FLOOR UNIQUE: This 5,500 square foot, nail-down installation of first grade, Northern Canadian, and hard maple was installed to replace the original floors in Dwight Hall. The hall was custom built in 1927. At the time, Dwight Hall was built with no expense spared and was one of the most elegant halls in British Columbia. During removal, the crew discovered the company’s own mill stamp from 1927. After subfloor remediation, the team added a layer of plywood and installed the new floor as per the original in a 75 board width, interlocked log cabin border pattern. This entry was submitted under the Best Restoration/Makeover category.
