Here, the Peachey Hardwood Flooring team tells us more about their offerings in this Q&A. HOW DID THE COMPANY BEGIN? Peachey Hardwood Flooring began in 1998 in Reedsville, Pennsylvania, as Peachey Wood Products, a family sawmill in the local Amish community of Big Valley, near Penn State. IN WHAT WAYS HAS YOUR BUSINESS EVOLVED SINCE THAT TIME? Once the Coleman family purchased the company in 2014, Peachey strategically began to focus on producing high end, custom-made wide plank flooring, moving away from wholesale lumber. As we evolved from our original sawmill into a manufacturing complex, we added an expansive drying yard, controlled/slow drying on-site kiln to increase quality, and solid and engineered manufacturing lines of approximately 100,000 square feet. Today, the Peachey name is recognized as a national leader in custom, wide-plank hardwood flooring, specializing in both solid and engineered products with widths up to 16 inches and long lengths. Our brand emphasizes sustainability, utilizing 100 percent of our sourced lumber, with waste used for biofuel, animal bedding, or firewood. As we continue to evolve, we hold true to our tradition of old-world craftsmanship, working closely with local Amish sawmills to source 90 percent of our lumber, while using the most advanced robotic and AI-enhanced manufacturing technologies available, securing the most sustainable use of each board, and increasing the raw material yield and sustainability factor by 25 percent in just the last year.

We’ve become known for our Appalachian Wide Plank, Vintage, Rustic, Reclaimed, and Rift and Quartered Oak product offerings in both solid and engineered options. As the preferences for longer, wider planks have grown, which are best manufactured in an engineered format for stability, so has our ability to offer nearly limitless options in custom engineered plank flooring.
