Homeowners value “durability,” “a ractiveness,” and “easy-to-clean” as the most important factors when choosing ooring. When homeowners were asked about eight di erent a ributes that

could be important to themwhen choosing the ooring for their home, three came out head and shoulders above the others – “durable” 67 percent, “a ractive” 61 percent, and “easy to clean” 58 percent. Following those top three were two other a ributes that homeowners also rated highly – “a ordable” 49 percent, and “adds value to the home” 45 percent. ree other a ributes were rated as less important by homeowners – “easy to install” 27 percent, “hypoallergenic” 18 percent and “environmentally responsible” 17 percent.

Wood oors score well on the a ributes most important to homeowners. On “durability,” “a ractiveness,” and “easy to clean,” wood ooring ranks either No. 1 or No. 2 of the four ooring types tested. Wood oors’ most signi cant advantage is on “a ractiveness” – as 68 percent of homeowners say that is an excellent description of wood oors, compared to just 46 percent for the next ooring type (tile). On both “durability” and “easy to clean,” wood ooring ranks just behind tile at 44 percent on “durability” and 40 percent on “easy to clean.”
