Horizon Forest Products RALEIGH

BOOTH 427

Though it began as a small lumber company in a warehouse behind the airport, Horizon Forest Products has grown to 22 locations throughout the East Coast and in Texas. Overall, the company has more than one million square feet of warehouse space and an entire fleet of vehicles. While the corporate office is in Raleigh, there are branches located across North Carolina from the mountains to the coast. David Williams, vice president of Horizon Forest Products, says the company prides itself on having the products customers are looking for and the answers they need. He shares that they have flooring and lumber products from great vendors all over the world. “Our people are the best in the industry. We bring in the best and the brightest, and we make sure we provide everything they need to continue to learn and grow,” says Williams. “We want to make sure we have everything our customers need to thrive and be successful, and we believe that starts with our people.” With that in mind, he adds that customers know they can call the Horizon team when they need them. He is looking forward to the NWFA Expo, saying their booth will be something to see. The weather will be wonderful during that time. We recommend anyone who is visiting to see the state. We’re blessed to have mountains just a few hours from a beautiful ocean coast. There is so much to discover in North Carolina. David Williams NOTEWORTHY IN NC

Appalachian Lumber Co. Inc. WILKESBORO BOOTH 1617

Appalachian Lumber Co. Inc. began in 1982 as a regional custom millwork and furniture parts producer. Over the years, it has grown into a modern facility producing hardwood flooring, mouldings, stair parts, and furniture components for national distribution. Located in Wilkes County, Appalachian Lumber Co.’s facility includes approximately 50,000 square feet of manufacturing space and an additional 50,000 square feet of warehouse space with an average of 50 full-time employees. All management and manufacturing processes are centrally housed there. William Church, president of Appalachian Lumber says the company is managed by a third and fourth generation forest products family with deep roots in the lumber industry. One of the company’s most popular products is ¾” engineered wood plank floors. “We are known for our customer service and our ability to source and manufacture unique and hard-to-find specialty products,” he shares. “Our niche is ‘creating specialty wood products with precision to bring your ideas to life.’” In the community, Church says they are heavily involved in local and national Christian ministries. They are excited for the NWFA Expo to be in their home state and invite attendees to visit them there to see the latest product offerings.

I would highly recommend a visit to the high country of northwestern North Carolina to see the beautiful mountain scenery and support an area that saw widespread devastation from Hurricane Helene. William Church NOTEWORTHY IN NC
