“My advice to someone new to installation is to take your time and learn how to do layout. Learn how to do fancier floors. One of the ways I learned was to find opportunities to gain experience by helping other people do them. Another cheap thing you can do to improve your credibility is buy a laser and do your measurements with lasers. If you show up with a laser and the other guy shows up fumbling around with a tape measure, that alone can set you apart. The National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) recently was recognized with three awards at Association Trends’ 2024 Salute to Association Excellence. Hardwood Floors, the official publication of the NWFA, was recognized as a TRENDY Award winner in the Monthly Trade Association Magazine category. The NWFAU, the NWFA’s online learning platform, was the gold winner in the eLearning and Live Training category. The updated Wood Species tech publication received a TRENDY Award in the Book/Manual/Catalog category. The winners of the TRENDY Awards were honored on February 27, 2024, during the Salute to Association Excellence ceremony in Washington, D.C.
