EXPECTATIONS CONTINUE TO GROW FOR STERLING TRACK & FIELD FIRST TO THE FINISH

As the Rangers gear up for another season of intrigue, one question still remains: Do they have what it takes to reach State? Sterling featured numerous competitors at the UIL Region III-5A Meet last April, but fell just short of qualifying for Austin. So, is this the year they finally reach the grand stage? With coaches Kelly Walker and Jalan Batiste leading the boys’ and girls’ programs,

respectively, there is ample opportunity for Sterling to achieve their ultimate goal in Class 5A. Individually, Irad Mixon, Nevaeh Fontenot, Ryan Sylvester, Alaina Laday, Jakkari Hall, and Kayla Myers are among the front-runners to provide RSS with the valuable points necessary to obtain a new precedent
