Here are three of the new high schools that have been built to keep up with the great increase in population moving to Gilbert,Arizona.

k Mesquite High School on McQueen Road

In 1993, the procedure for electing a mayor in Gilbert changed. On March 9, 1993, the council approved an ordinance that all future mayors will be elected directly by the citizens of Gilbert. Mayor Wilburn Brown was the first to receive his election direct from the people and began serving on July 1, 1993. After more than fifty years in the old Town Hall, Gilbert built a modern Town Hall on Gilbert Road south of Warner Road. Below is a picture of the new facility.
