Na ti onal Anthem (Luke Gilford) Drama tells of a 21-year-old con struction worker in New Mexico who joins a community of queer rodeo performers in their quest for the American dream. Outstanding (Page Hurwitz) Docu. traces the history of LGBT co medians with a focus on standup, from Paul Lynde’s winking wise cracks to today’s in-your-face queer comics. The Summer with Carmen (Zacharias Mavroeidis) Greek comedy about two gay friends who are writing a screenplay about a recent summer, but their versions of what happened differ wildly. Young Hearts (Anthony Schatteman) Drama follows a 14-year-old boy whose young life is rocked when a boy his age moves into the neighborhood and he falls in love for the first time. Cabaret Broadway revival stars Eddie Redmayne in the gayest ver sion yet of the classic musical. At the August Wilson Theatre. Ride the Cyclone Musical finds five young friends in Limbo telling their life story, including a gay boy with a tragic past and a starry eyed future. At the NCTC in San Francisco, Sept. 20–Oct. 20. TheGulf Drama spotlights two female lovers who witness some thing from a fishing boat that threatens to rock their world. At the NCTC in San Francisco, Oct. 18–Nov. 24. Fallen Angels Noël Coward comedy about a love triangle involving two women and the man with whom both had a fling many years ago. At the Aurora Theatre in Berkeley, CA, Oct. 19–Nov. 17. Midnight at the Never Get Musical set in Greenwich Village finds two male lovers and cabaret performers coping with revolutionary change. At San Diego’s Diversionary Theater, Oct. 24–Nov. 17. TheProm Comedy places four fading Broadway stars into a small town brouhaha over a lesbian couple’s plan to attend the senior prom. At the Outfront Theater Co. in Atlanta, Oct. 26–Nov. 11. Theater / Dance Resonantly Me: A Queer Ar ti st’s Invita ti onal Exhibit features works by 40 California-based LGBT artists. At the Bakersfield (CA) Museum of Art thru Sept. 7th. Robert Andy Coombs: No Content Warning Solo show of works by the contemporary queer and disabled photographer. At the ONE Archives in L.A. thru Sept. 14th.
