Jaripeo (Efraín Mojica & Rebecca Zweig) Spanish docu. delves into the culture of rodeo and captures the secret glances and fleet ing touches of the participants in this hypermasculine world. A Night Like This (Liam Calvert) Romance starts with a meet-cute of a broke gay actor and a privileged ditz, who embark on a night time quest around London to find meaning in their lives. My Brother’s Killer (Rachel Mason) Crime docu. explores the un solved murder of adult film star Billy London in West Hollywood, and how private citizens resolved the mystery. Peter Hujar’s Day (Ira Sachs) Docudrama stars Ben Whishaw as Hujar, based on a lengthy taped conversation that he had with Linda Rosenkrantz in 1974. Reviewed in this issue . Cluedunnit Drag parody of a murder mystery involving six larger than-life suspects, including an overworked houseboy. At the Out Front Theatre Co. in Atlanta, April 30–May 16. Hedwig and the Angry Inch Classic musical finds Hedwig, a gay East German rock singer, becoming attached to a famous rock star. At the NCTC in San Francisco, May 8–June 7. La Cage aux Folles Classic farce based on the 1973 French play comes to Theatre Rhinoceros in San Francisco, May 14–June 17. Rent A reimagined production of the iconic musical will be at the Diversionary Theatre in San Diego, May 21–June 14. Brokeback Mountain Theatrical version of the story about two cow boys is at Chicago’s Shakespeare Theater, May 28–Jun 28. The View Upstairs Play inspired by the 1973 torching of the Up stairs Lounge in New Orleans imagines the scene before the deadly fire. At Baltimore’s Vernon Iron Crow Theatre, May 29–June 14. Kinky Boots Revival of the classic musical with the fabulous Lola happens at the Nederlander Theatre in NYC, June 9–21.
