On a typical day in February, veterinarians at WellPet had performed a couple of routine dental procedures while seeing other patients in the exam rooms. Dr. Bowling had tended to some yearly vaccine appointments and check-ups and talked to an owner about geriatric medicine. Then she got thrown a few curve balls. “I had one of my puppy patients who decided to eat a sewing needle. Then I had another who chewed off the splint on his broken tibia. He initially had fractured his tibia after a procedure to correct some problems in the knee itself. We had an orthopedic specialist come to set the tibia,” Dr. Bowling explained.

The work we do can be very demanding, and our staff have a diverse set of skills necessary for the best veterinary care,” said Sadie Bowling, DVM, one of eight veterinarians on the WellPet staff. When the doors open early in the morning, the team is ready to handle the routine visits such as those for preventative care. But occasionally, they get thrown a curve ball. Dr. Bowling explains that the team is ready to assess each situation and handle it accordingly.
