W hen searching for the most memorable and gorgeous event venues, look no further than the Fulshear-Katy area. Choose from the many extraordinary options to suit virtually any size, budget, and style. A growing trend in the event industry is the revival of historic venues. This approach supports sustainability by reusing existing spaces while also providing the perfect backdrop for personalized experiences that reflect each couple’s unique story. Originally built as a cotton gin, the historic building on Bains Street in Brookshire is now home to Venue 116. The building has been a meaningful part of the local community since 1936. Shawn Johnson, the owner, has managed to preserve the original charm while incorporating modern updates, making the venue ready for a wide range of events, including those beyond weddings. “As we have just now celebrated our two-year Anniversary of owning Venue 116, we have already seen the event space market evolve. While weddings continue to be a cornerstone of our business, there’s been a noticeable shift toward hosting a wider variety of gatherings—from corporate events and birthday and Holiday celebrations to nonprofit galas. Clients are looking for venues that offer flexibility, character, and a sense of authenticity, which is where Venue 116 truly shines.” Johnson also notes that fundraising events are becoming more popular in their space. “What made it truly special was the purpose behind it. We’ve had the honor of hosting several galas and nonprofit events over the last year, and each one brings together people who are passionate about giving back. Our space has a way of elevating the experience while still feeling warm and welcoming. Watching guests connect, celebrate, and rally around a meaningful cause is something we never take for granted—it’s one of the most rewarding parts of what we do, unique and rewarding.” In addition to the beauty of Venue 116, other notable venues also call the Fulshear Regional area home.
