SERVICES Cable, Satellite & Internet The two main cable providers for Fulshear and Katy are AT&T and Xfinity, and the main satellite providers are DirectTV and Dish. Other smaller companies exist that may have more limited coverage. Do your research online to find a subscription plan that fits your needs and is available in your new location. AT&T and Xfinity also provide internet services as do Viasat , Windstream and several smaller companies. Natural Gas and Electricity CenterPoint Energy is the major natural gas provider in the greater Houston area. To obtain natural gas services, contact the company at 713- 659-2111 or via centerpointenergy.com.

Recycling & Trash, Water & Sewage The City of Katy and the City of Fulshear provide curbside recycling and trash pick-up and water and sewage service. In Fulshear, call the Utilities Office at 281-346-8830; in Katy, call the Public Works Department at 281-391-4820. Note: The utility, trash and recycling information for the City of Katy does not necessarily hold for a large area beyond the Katy city limits — considered Greater Katy

TRANSPORTATION Driver’s License According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), new Texas residents can legally drive with a valid, unexpired driver ’s license from another U.S. state, U.S. territory, Canadian province or qualifying country for up to 90 days after moving to Texas. Before that grace period ends, the new resident must apply in person at any driver license office to continue to drive legally. Bring vehicle registration, proof of insurance, a Social Security card or proof of residency, and the valid out-of-state license, which will be surrendered, to the nearest Department of Public Safety office.
